  • All transcripts are recorded with letter grades.

  • It is best to confirm the credit transfer issue with your home university.

Our credits are acknowledged at most universities. However, we strongly advise students to consult study abroad advisor, academic counsellor or the department head at your institution. Checking the credit transferability is students' responsibility.

  • Meal plan is not included in the dormitory fees. There are various cafeterias in and around the dormitory, so it is easy to find places to eat. Common kitchen is available for those who would like to cook for themselves. Please contact the Housing office for further information.

  • For on-campus housing, please check our website: HOUSING >  ON-Campus Housing

  • Please feel free to contact us via email (iwinter@yonsei.ac.kr). We can respond more quickly if you include your name, home university, and WAY student ID (if applicable). We kindly ask that you avoid sending multiple emails in quick succession, as we process inquiries in the order they are received. Sending additional emails may delay our response.

  • We sometimes experience a high level of emails returning back due to full inboxes or our messages being marked as spam. Please regularly clear your inbox and check your spam folder. Also, please ensure that you have entered the correct email address without any typos.

  • We strongly recommend students arrive before the first day of class.

However, if late arrival is unavoidable, please be aware that students may face certain disadvantages.

    - Yonsei University has a strict attendance policy: students who are absent from a course for more than one-third of the program will receive an F. (https://winter.yonsei.ac.kr/winter/program/attendance.do)

We also strongly recommend that students contact their professor directly regarding late arrivals.

    - For students enrolled in Korean Language courses (KLI) at Level 2 or above, taking the placement test on the first day of class is mandatory.

Please note that the course will be automatically dropped if the placement test is not taken. (Students registered for Level 1 are exempt from the placement test.)

Late-arriving students will still be provided with a student handbook and student ID card.

  • We are sorry that auditing of courses is not allowed at WAY.

  • If one of your parents is a Yonsei alumni or employee, you are eligible for the Yonsei Alumni Scholarship (200,000 KRW). Please submit your parent’s Yonsei University diploma (or employment certificate) and a family certificate via email before the application deadline.

What if my grandparents, aunts or uncles graduated from Yonsei?

We are sorry we provide the Yonsei Alumni Scholarship for those whose parents are Yonsei alumni.

  • Students who have previously participated in either the YISS or WAY programs are eligible for a 100,000 KRW discount on their tuition. Be sure to include your previous YISS/WAY student ID number when applying. If you don’t remember your previous ID, please contact us!
