If your home country has a visa waiver agreement with the Republic of Korea, you can enter Korea and stay up to 90 days without a visa. If you are from a country that require a visa to enter Korea, then we will issue you the necessary documents for your visa application (D-2-8). For details regarding visa requirement or application, please consult your local Korean Embassy or visit Korea Visa Portal (https://www.visa.go.kr/).
If your local bank deals in international monetary transfer, it is okay to just send your local currency. The receiving bank will change whatever currency they receive to Korean won, and the deposited amount will show as KRW on your application information.
Meal plan is not included in the dormitory fees. There are various cafeterias in and around the dormitory, so it is easy to find places to eat. Common kitchen is available for those who would like to cook for themselves. Please contact the Office of international House for further information.
Grades will be sent by regular mail three weeks after the final day of the program. Exchange students will receive two copies of their transcripts, sent to their home universities. Non-exchange students will receive their grades both at their homes and at their schools by mail.
Classes meet for 150 minutes each day, five days a week (Mon ~ Fri), for 3 weeks (45 in-class hours per course). Korean Language/Taekwondo classes meet for 60 minutes each day, four days a week (Mon ~ Thur), for 3 weeks (15 in-class hours per course).
Courses you applied for on the application are for survey purposes only. After your acceptance is confirmed, you should register for courses by the online instructions from the Winter Abroad at Yonsei (WAY) office.
If the most recent semester (i.e. Fall 2015)’s grades are not yet included in the transcript, we will still accept current transcripts for the admission. However, for scholarship applications, we may request students to submit their most updated transcript.
All communications will be made primarily by email. Please check your email and register online for any updates and notices. If there is a problem with communications, please call the International Education Center (82-2-2123-3535).
If you meet all the requirements and submitted all your documents, you will be notified of your admission decision within two weeks by email. However, if you have not paid your application fee, documents will be on hold until the payment is completed. Please make sure your application fee is paid to ensure timely processing of your documents.
Yonsei University has bilateral agreement with 600 universities worldwide. Some of these exchange agreements cover Winter Abroad at Yonsei. If you want to attend as an exchange student, please inquire and apply through your home university.
