Students who are currently enrolled or planning to enroll in a university outside of Korea, with a GPA of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale. High school seniors who have been accepted to a university can also apply.
You need to submit an official transcript from your current university. For freshmen, a certificate of enrollment (CoE) is required, and for future students, an official admission letter is necessary. Sophomore, junior, and senior students must submit the official transcript. The official transcript must be in English and issued within the last 3 months.
Application reviews take some time. Additionally, your application will only be reviewed after you pay the application fee (100,000 KRW). Please note, the application fee is non-refundable. After the application fee is paid, it still typically takes at least 1-2 weeks to review an application due to a high volume of applications. Rest assured, all before the deadline.
Only high school seniors who have been officially admitted to a university are eligible to apply. You must submit your official admission letter.
In this case, you can submit a certificate of enrollment (CoE) instead of a GPA transcript.
Congratulations! However, you still need to complete the tuition fee payment to ensure the registration. The whole process is only complete once you receive a confirmation of enrollment email.
Not yet. You will need to prepare for the next steps such as course registration and dormitory applications. Detailed guidelines for specific dates will be sent to enrolled students via email.
At this moment, you won’t have access for the Yonsei Portal yet. The Portal access will be granted 1-2 days before the dormitory or course registration period. Thank you for your patience!
No, that was just a preferred course survey. You will need to officially register for courses during the course registration period. Keep in mind that spots are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis, so make sure you don’t miss the registration period!
The dormitory application period is from October 22 to 24, and it will go through the Yonsei Portal. Dormitory services are managed by a separate office from WAY. You will receive detailed instructions in the Welcome Packet sent after admission.
You can find all available courses, syllabi, and professor information on the WAY website under the Courses menu.
You can take a minimum of 3 credits and a maximum of 9 credits. After paying the tuition, you can still adjust your credit load, but additional payment or refunds may be required. Please refer to the refund policy on the WAY website. Changes can only be made before the course add/drop period ends.
Please contact the Korean embassy or consulate directly to check if you need a visa or not. The WAY Office is not responsible for issuing visas, and students must verify their own visa requirements. If the embassy/consulate asks for a D-2-8 visa or a Certificate of Admission (CoA), please contact us. If you are taking online courses only, no visa is required.

It is best to confirm the credit transfer issue with your home university.
Our credits are acknowledged at most universities. However, we strongly advise students to consult study abroad advisor, academic counsellor or the department head at your institution. Checking the credit transferability is students' responsibility.
Students can check their grades after course evaluation according to the academic calandar. Usually grades are available for checking on Yonsei Portal in 2-3 days after the program ends.
The grades are confirmed in around 2 weeks after the program ends, and we send e-Transcript to the university. Thus, your institution will be able to receive the soft-copy version of your transcript around 3 weeks after the program is over.
Additional copies of transcripts can be requested for a fee from the WAY office. [How to request transcript]. Note that it's the student's responsibility to provide correct e-mail/mail address.
You may take a maximum of 3 academic courses (9 credits) during Session 1.

The receiving bank will change whatever currency they receive to Korean won, and the deposited amount will show as KRW on your application information. Please note that Korean local bank (beneficiary bank) may charge fees in exchanging and receiving international wire.

We accept transcripts that are issued within 3 months.
If the most recent semester(i.e. Spring 2023)’s grades are not yet included in the transcript, please let us know so that we can consider that. We will still be able to accept the transcripts for admission based on internal review. However, for scholarship applications, we may request students to submit their most updated transcript.
Admission review starts only when the application fee is paid. Please make sure the fee is paid first and that you receive confirmation email of receipt. Admission result is available on application status.
